A UFO has been reported by a number of residents in the borough.
Two witnesses have come forward separately to say they saw a very bright beam of light descend out of the sky on the eve of Sunday July 27.
Norman Willis, 61, of Rugby Road, Burbage recalls seeing the peculiar light at around 11pm. He said: “I had just finished watching a film and I went into my back bedroom to have a look at the sky. It was clear except for one white cloud.
“It was fairly dark but the sky and stars were clear to see. All of a sudden a bright green beam came down out of the cloud for about three seconds before disappearing. It was a continuous beam down.
“I thought it might have been a comet but I’ve not heard anyone mention anything about a comet.”
The second sighting took place on the same night but slightly earlier on. The possible unsettling implications of UFO sightings

There are some unsettling conclusions reached by abduction researchers that are rarely mentioned in mainstream UFO reporting. Abduction researchers suggest, often based on decades of research, that there may be more going on with most UFO witnesses than simply seeing something unusual in the sky.
There is a wide continuum of what gets reported as a UFO. At one end of this spectrum are tiny dots of light making odd motions way off in the distance, but the source could be something perfectly terrestrial. On the other end of that same spectrum would be a close up sighting of a silvery flying saucer hovering silently just above the swing set in the back yard; which would be very difficult to dismiss as anything other than unknown.

Author and researcher David Marler has been calling the more noteworthy sightings unambiguous UFOs. This implies something well beyond the tiny dots that make up the majority of the sightings reports.
Marler says, “I came up with the term unambiguous UFOs to separate descriptions of large, low-flying, structured aerial objects from the ubiquitous and ambiguous light in the sky UFO reports. I believe there is a huge distinction between the two that demands clarification.”
The late researcher Elaine Douglass collected UFO reports for MUFON (Mutual UFO Network) for more than a quarter century. When conducting an investigation she would ask the witnesses the standard set of questions for any sighting, what time, how big, and so on. She would then do a follow up interview with deeper, more personal questions, asking them to describe any unusual personal events. This simply involved asking: “So, what else, in your whole life, has ever happened to you that you cannot explain?” More often than not, a big story would emerge. She would hear the unusual events that would imply some sort of direct contact experiences. What she concluded was that over half the people who see UFOs are abductees.

KC area hosts paranormal, UFO conference

 

LAKE LOTAWANA, MO (KCTV) - There's a close encounter of a real kind occurring out in Lake Lotawana this weekend. It's the Kansas City Paracon Paranormal conference.
Researchers and authors present evidence of the unexplained and unsolved. Organizers say Lake Lotawana was chosen for its close proximity to many UFO sightings in the area and because it's likely haunted.
This is clearly not your average, run-of-the-mill conference, nothing like the dairy auditors' conference recently concluded in Cleveland. After all, Cleveland may be many things, but haunted is likely not one of them.
But, we digress. The agenda for the paranormal conference is vastly different than other gatherings. For example, topics that either have, or will be, discussed include: UFO crash evidence, the Joplin spook light, evidence of Bigfoot, unidentified submerged objects, paranormal evidence and photographing UFOs.
But, wait, there's more. A la carte events will cover a UFO skywatch, a Bigfoot investigation workshop and a paranormal investigation.
KCTV5 caught up with one man attending the conference who said he's seen a lot of strange things, many of which he's photographed and videotaped.
"They move very quickly. You blink your eye, and it's gone," Wichita resident and paranormal researcher Bill Spicer explained as he showed what he believes are video and pictures of UFOs.
Spicer has been shooting video and taking pictures like the ones he showed us for the last five years outside his Wichita home. He said whatever it is in those pictures, it doesn't act like it's man-made.
For one thing, Spicer said he can only see if while wearing sunglasses. And, while the unexplained phenomenon doesn't make train alarms go off like we saw in the movie Close Encountered of the Third Kind, it is faster than anything he's ever seen.
Spicer shared his observations with the audience at the conference. He said he's come across many people who don't believe him, but said a Harvard astrophysicist does.
"He has his theories that these are holograms, what he termed quantum holograms."
Spicer explained that means possible remnants from black holes.
Spicer said as long as he doesn't get his by flying objects, he plans to keep taking pictures of them. As he points out, "We don't have a complete understanding of the whole world around us."
